Our Core Services

Connect FCE connects a broad spectrum of clients with providers of physical assessments, streamlining the process of scheduling an FCE and getting the final report. We connect clients with the following services:

Functional Capacity Evaluations

A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is an objective test that measures an individual's capacity to perform simple physical tasks like lifting, pushing, and pulling. It determines an individual’s readiness to work after an injury or illness; it determines the work capacity of individuals with chronic pain; and it assists in formulating disability determinations. An FCE is a vital tool in determining whether an individual can return to work after an injury, and if so, to what extent. But it's more than that; an FCE documents a person's ability to perform work from a medical, behavioral, physical, and ergonomic perspective. It measures work readiness and provides baseline information for successful rehabilitation.

From a worker's compensation perspective, Functional Capacity Evaluations are designed to measure an injured worker's abilities safely, comprehensively, and objectively. Once an FCE is completed and the examining physician has released the employee to work, that employee will understand his or her physical capacities, and the employer can match his or her abilities to specific tasks.

These physical assessments are also important from a disability perspective, because they can help determine a disabled person's range of physical abilities, creating a complete assessment of relevant skills. This is useful in determining whether vocational rehabilitation is necessary.

At Connect FCE, we use only fully-trained and experienced rehabilitation professionals to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations and other physical assessments. Getting quality, fast and comprehensive results is our top priority.

  • For the client, it identifies safe working limits, accelerates the return-to-work process and improves the chance of successful rehabilitation.

  • For the physician, it assists with evaluation of medical impairments, provides a baseline for successful rehabilitation, and establishes safe physical demands for the return to work.

  • For the compensation carrier, it validates the injury, helps to document data for disability settlement, and helps to resolve one’s case.

  • For the employer, it provides faster return to work, and gives data regarding ergonomic solutions and job modifications.

  • For the attorney, it gives objective data for establishment of functional status and it assesses the extent of damages in litigation.
